Insight into law-making serious problem for electorate
Thanks to Heather Grahame for her 31-Dec-17 letter.
Good morning: We are indebted to Ms. Grahame for letting us in on how laws are made under the Republican party. Ms. Grahame mentioned three key phrases in her letter that help us understand why we need to get rid of our Republican senator (Daines) and Congressman (Gainforte) since they obviously do not represent the people of Montana.
From her letter, Ms. Grahame says that a “last-minute amendment” would have been a “huge negative for our customers” and without NorthWestern and other utilities being involved “hardly anyone in Montana ever knew” about the amendment.
From this I read that 1) the entire tax bill was last-minute without proper vetting so we should all be prepared for other surprises in this tax bill from the GOP. Also 2) the national Republican party doesn’t mind screwing every utility ratepayer in the USA (which is about 99% of us) and 3) Daines and Gianforte were either ignorant of or complicit in the afore-mentioned screwing and did nothing to stop it.
For my money, neither ignorance nor complicity in this matter is acceptable from people who are supposed to be representing us. Thanks to the NorthWestern team for fixing it and shame on our Republican elected officials for either their ignorance or complacency (or possibly both).
