LION KING AT OGT
Disney’s "The Lion King Experience Jr." runs on the Orphan Girl Theatre stage Oct. 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21 at 7 p.m. and Sundays, Oct. 15 and 22, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 10 and under. The Orphan Girl Theatre is located at 316 W. Park St.; enter through the gate on Galena Street.
"The Turn of the Screw", a suspenseful stage show, will run Oct. 13-15 at the Cutler Brothers Theater in Deer Lodge. Shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling 406-846-4096, or you can pay at the door.
The Spirit of Columbia Gardens Carousel will have a fundraiser at 5 p.m. at MacKenzie River Pizza, 3450 Monroe Ave. Twenty percent of sales will be donated to the carousel. At the event, one of the finished horses will be showcased. Alyssa MacDonald and Martha Cooney-Simonich will be signing their children's book, "Goodnight Butte!" Copies of the book will be available for purchase for $19.95 with cash or check only. One hundred percent of the book's proceeds will go to Spirit of Columbia Gardens. In addition, there will be a tasting hosted by Headframe Spirits, live music by Chad Okrusch, and raffle tickets available for cash purchase ($5 each or five for $20) to enter to win baskets provided by Headframe Spirits, 5518 Designs, and Mackenzie River Pizza.
AT THE LIBRARY
Butte firemen will visit the Butte Public Library at 11 a.m. at 226 W. Broadway St. A fire truck will be displayed, and youngsters will listen to stories, sing songs, and do an activity. All ages are welcome. Details: Cathy at 406-723-3361.
For Heaven’s Cakes, in cooperation with Butte Halloween, presents the Butte Halloween Carnival from 5 to 8 p.m. at 31 N. Main. There will be a haunted funhouse, games, prizes, sideshows, and music and dancing with DJ Anemia.
DILLON ART WALK
The Southwest Montana Art Council’s Fall Art Walk is from 5 to 8 p.m. in businesses throughout Downtown Dillon. Over 20 local artists will be featured in a variety of mediums, including watercolor, acrylic, ceramics, jewelry, glass, and photography. SMAC will also be celebrating the grand opening of its Art Center at 120 N. Montana St. in Dillon. Details: 406-683-6208.
Montana Tech will be hosting its Fall Open House events from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13 and Friday, Nov. 17. Activities may include academic program open houses, interactive classroom sessions, and paying for college sessions.
The Montana Tech Business and Information Technology Department will host Pam Palagi, regional vice president of SCL Health Montana, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Natural Resources Building, room 128. Palagi’s presentation is titled “Why Being a Finance Person in Healthcare is Challenging.”
