Diabetes workshop starts next week
The March Diabetes Learning Opportunity will start Thursday, Feb. 15 at St. James Healthcare. The classes continue Feb. 22 and March 1. Insurance can be billed for the classes, which are 9 to 11 a.m.
Participants will work with a certified diabetes educator and a registered dietitian to create a customized self-management plan that works for you. The three-week session focuses on counting carbohydrates while including the foods you enjoy, what to do with your blood sugar readings, and how your medications work. Fulbright scholar to lecture at Tech
Fanbin Zeng, a Fulbright scholar at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and an associate professor in the College of Journalism and Mass Communication of Jinan University, will be giving a talk at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at CBB 102 on the Montana Tech campus.
His talk is titled “The Relationship between Social Media Use and Citizen Participation.”
Nowadays, social media or social networking sites are very popular around the world. The ease of using and creating social media has spawned an explosion of grassroots participation, allowing individuals to express their opinions openly and freely. This lecture will introduce social media and discuss citizen participation and social media use in China.
