Butte Cares displays 'Empty Dinner Party'
Butte Cares Inc. is hosting "Empty Dinner Party" displays at several locations around town this holiday season.
The displays are in memory of loved ones who won't be at our dinner tables this holiday season due to an alcohol or drug-impaired incident. It depicts a table set up for a festive holiday dinner but with one place missing.
The displays will be located at the Butte Plaza Mall, Butte-Silver Bow courthouse rotunda, and the Montana Tech Student Union Building from Monday, Nov. 20, through Wednesday, Dec. 20.
Butte Cares says the displays are a powerful reminder of the lives that drugs and alcohol claim and the pain left behind for loved ones to endure.
"Our entire community is impacted by these incidents," said Butte Cares director Linda Lowney. "As we approach the time of year when families gather together, let us remember those who will be missing from our tables and celebrations.
