Curry dinner Saturday at Aldersgate

A curry dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, in the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1621 Thornton Ave., with proceeds going to the Zanskar Medical Project.

The suggested donation is $25, and kids are admitted free. Besides the Indian food, a holiday bazaar, silent auction, short film and presentation, and music and songs by Judy Fjell are planned. Details: 406-782-2425.

Butte Central to host student events

  • Maroon Magic 2017 is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the high school auditorium. The choir, pep band and guitar classes will perform, along with solo performances. Admission is free but donations are accepted.
  • The Butte Central Choir will perform at the Christmas Stroll from 6 to 6:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, in the NorthWestern Energy Building.
  • They will also perform at the Orchestra Christmas Concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in the Mother Lode Theatre, alongside the Butte High and Anaconda choirs.
  • Butte Central High School is hosting a speech and debate meet on Saturday, Dec. 9. Volunteer judges are still needed for the event. No experience is necessary Judging clinics will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, and at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7. Both clinics will be held in the Butte Central High School Library. Diana Jensen named best speaker

Top O’ The Mornin’ Toastmasters weekly winners included Diana Jensen, best speaker; Tonette Hollingsworth, best evaluator; and Mike Gribben, best topic respondent.

The next meeting will be held at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at Perkins. Guests are always welcome.

Ladies AOH banquet Dec. 11

The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians will have its Christmas banquet Monday, Dec. 11, at the Butte Country Club.

Anacondans celebrate Good Neighbor Day

ANACONDA — Good Neighbor Day begins at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at the Anaconda Chamber Visitor Center, 306 E. Park Ave. This year’s Good Neighbors are Maryanne and Duane Brugman. There will be music, Christmas cookies, and an awards ceremony. The button drawing for the gift basket is at 2. In addition, Corey Gransbery will be demonstrating ice sculpting beginning at noon at the Anaconda Chamber.

Ladies Night Out being planned

DEER LODGE — The Deer Lodge Elks Lodge #1737 will host its annual Ladies Night Out Saturday, Dec. 2. This event is for women only. Cocktails are at 5 p.m.; dinner is at 6. Tickets are $15.

Gold Hill's lutefisk dinner Saturday

The annual festive holiday dinner of lutefisk, lefse and Swedish meatballs will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Gold Hill Lutheran Church, 934 Placer St. Other menu items include boiled potatoes with white cream gravy, pickled herring, pickled beets, cooked carrots, Scandinavian cookies, and fruit soup.

Victorian open house at Grant-Kohrs

DEER LODGE — The Grand-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site will have its annual free Victorian Holiday Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at 266 Warren Lane, Deer Lodge.

The ranch is transformed for the with music, children's activities, wagon rides and refreshments planned. 

Retired Miners plan holiday dinner

Retired Mine Workers will meet Friday, Dec. 8, at the Butte Country Club.
