Butte High School and East Middle School won team honors in their respective divisions at the recent regional math competition at Montana Tech.

Butte High students who received superior ratings were Dustin LaMiaux, Gavin Sison, Erin Olivieri, Tanisha Heaney, Keaton Ball and Chris Illston.

Other students who aced superior ratings were Shiya Liu of Butte Central and Bridger Williams of Ennis.

East Middle School students Logan Johnson, McKayla Kratz and Xavier Black each snagged superior ratings, placing them in the top 15 percent of their respective grade levels. Those three received superior ratings on all three tests offered.

East produced the top two Amazing Math Race teams in its division: Bo Mortensen, Aidan Thornton, Cade O’Neill and Cody Berge (Team 1) and Nik Zora, Johnson and Isaiah Weldon (Team 2).

About 250 students competed overall.
