HIT, RUN, FOUND, ARRESTED
A Butte man crashed into a parked car in the 1700 block of A Street about two hours before sunrise Tuesday then took off on foot.
Police checked the registration on the wrecked 2011 Mazda left at the scene, went to the owner’s house and arrested 21-year-old Cody Gray on complaints of DUI, hit-and-run and having no car insurance. He also had drug paraphernalia on him, police said.
Gray had injuries consistent with those from a car crash and was wearing the same clothes that a witness had identified. The parked car was a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Gray remained in jail as of late Tuesday morning.
PUNCHED IN FACE
A man living in the 900 block of North Main Street told police Monday that another man punched him the night before. The victim said he came home to his apartment and started arguing with the other man, who then punched him twice in the face. The victim had visible marks to his neck but police were still investigating and no arrests had been made as of late Tuesday morning.
JEWELRY, CHANGE TAKEN
Someone came into a house in the 2000 block of Argyle Street between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday and took jewelry and a small amount of change from a jar. There were no signs of forced entry and police were still investigating.
