Claudene passed away Tuesday Nov. 7, 2017, surrounded by the love of her family.
Claudene was born Feb. 17, 1942 in Butte, Montana to Claude and Hazel (Sis) Dodgson. She was raised in Melrose, Montana where she attended grade school. She graduated high school from Beaverhead High in 1960.
Claudene moved to California in 1962, where she met Manuel Berberia. They wed in 1964 and had their oldest daughter, Jodi, in 1968 and Rachelle in 1970.
While Claudene loved the ocean, her love for her parents and the mountains was greater and she moved back to Montana in 1981. Following her move she worked for the Montana Forest Service and several years as a dispatcher for Beaverhead County Sheriff’s office.
Claudene had a great passion for animals and could never say no to one of her neighborhood cats. However, the love she had for her family was unexplainable and forever live within them.
Claudene is survived by her daughter, Rachelle (Troy) Morse of Jefferson City, Montana; sister, Nancy (Steve) Keene of Melrose, Montana; granddaughters, Ember (Brandon) Craig, Ashley (Brett) Hicks, Tara (Keaton) Caprara, Kyla Rude, and Erica Rude; and grandson, Deven Duty. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jodi Rude, and both of her parents.
There will be a funeral at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at Brundage Funeral Home in Dillon, Montana.
