March 9, 1940-Feb. 11, 2018
Sharon Margeritte Abad lost her battle with lung cancer on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018. Born on March 9, 1940 as Sharon Margeritte Hanley, she was the eldest child of Fellow and Margeritte Hanley of Butte.
To all who loved her, she was known as “ma” or “grama”. Of all her life experiences, her family was most important and her greatest accomplishment. She beamed with pride when she spoke about every person she loved. Her love was unconditional and expansive. Her grandchildren were her greatest treasure. She knew just how to make each person feel like they were the most important to her. She could always be found sitting at her kitchen table with an endless cup of coffee while watching her westerns and chatting with a friend. A longtime collector of everything from Native American décor to porcelain dolls, her dearest collection was the hearts of those who knew her. She will be forever loved and deeply missed. We hope you are dancing in the sky.
Survived by her brother and his wife, Fellow and Judy Hanley; nine children, “Butchie” Horse Capture, Clifford Johnson, Ron Johnson, Mary Phillips, Ade and Terri Abad, John and Tronika Abad, Mark and Brandi Abad, and Nicole Hansen, and Brooke Hansen; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of Silver Bow County.
