Robert “Bob” Hogan died on Saturday, April 14, 2018 in Anaconda, Montana.
He was born on Dec. 15, 1948 in Richland, Washington to Bart and Agnes (Woods) Hogan. Upon the death of his father, the family moved to Anaconda in 1953.
Bob attended St. Peter’s Grade School and graduated from Anaconda Central in 1967.
He served in the United States Army from 1969 till 1972 as a non-combat officer, Engineering Unit #1.
Upon returning to Anaconda, he was employed by the Anaconda Company as an ironworker. This was followed by his enrollment in the Denver Automotive Institute.
Later he was employed by the National Forest Service at the Anaconda Job Corps, in various capacities within the Department of Residential Living. He treasured his 27 years with the Job Corps and continued contact with many good friends and students with whom he interacted. During this time he became an avid golfer, thoroughly enjoying the sport.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Carol Hogan Rachac and Sister Mary Agnes Hogan, SCL. Also surviving are nieces, Krista (Jay) Wahl, Sarah Rachac and her fiancé Nick Ottoy, nephew, Greg Rachac; grandnephew and grandnieces, Kaden, Kellan and Kendall Wahl.
Friends are asked to call at Holy Family Catholic Church in Anaconda beginning Friday morning, April 20, at 10 a.m., and then to join with the family for the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30.
Following the Rite of Committal at Mount Olivet Cemetery, there will be a luncheon at the Parish Hunthausen Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Anaconda Pintler Hospice.
