Aug. 27, 1942-Feb. 27, 2018
Jerrold Paul Pederson, 75, passed away peacefully of natural causes at his Big Sky, MT home surrounded by his family on Feb. 27, 2018.
Jerry was born Aug. 27, 1942 in Billings, MT to Paul and Verna (Scribner) Pederson. He attended Billings Central Catholic High School and graduated from Gonzaga University with a BA in Business Administration in 1964 after which he joined the United States Army Reserve and was honorably discharged in June 1970. At this time he also began his very dedicated 40-year career at the Montana Power Company where he served in various roles ending as the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. He married his loving wife and partner of 47 years, Bertha Ann (Olson) Pederson, on Sept. 26, 1970.
Jerry’s biggest joys in life were attending all of his children’s events, spending time with his family, skiing at his mountain and Gonzaga Bulldog basketball. Watching Gonzaga play in the 2017 National Championship game surrounded by his family and friends was an unbelievable highlight.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha; children, Pam (Chad) Feuerstein, Paul (Rachel) Pederson, Jill (Vinnie) Pederson (soon to be Bolton), and Jake (Jenny) Pederson. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brantley and Cheyanne Feuerstein, Ryer, Bridger, and Elizabeth Pederson, and Lily and Greyson Pederson; his sisters, Mary Lou Sheehan of Santa Rosa, CA and Barbara (Russ) Hein of Billings, MT; and numerous nieces, nephews and close family friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Verna.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Big Sky Chapel, 510 Little Coyote Road, Big Sky, MT 59716. Memorial donations in remembrance of Jerry may be made to Gonzaga.edu/givenow or Hospice Bozeman Health would be appreciated.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Bozeman Health and Qualicare Family HomeCare of Bozeman for their considerate care.
Jerry was a very humble, extremely loyal and private person. He is deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
