Donald James Eustice Sr. passed away peacefully at his home in Butte. He was born in Butte Saturday, August 28, 1943 to Richard J. and Dorothy (Martin) Eustice. He attended Blaine School and graduated from Butte High School in 1961. He served his country honorably with the United States Navy and following his discharge returned to Butte. He married the love of his life, Tove Hughley in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Jan. 2, 1965, and together they made their home in Butte where they raised their two children, Don Jr. and Deanna. He was especially proud of his Centerville and Butte heritage, and attended the “Hill Kids Reunion” this year with his daughter to laugh and enjoy many old friends.
Don worked as an electrician on countless construction projects in the western United States, Butte and surrounding areas. He was a proud member of the IBEW #233 for 51 years and was a volunteer at the Butte Food Bank for the past three years. Being a true Montana man, he enjoyed hunting and fly fishing. He especially enjoyed four wheeling with his cousins Dale and Dave to Alpine Lake.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Tove, in 2014; his father, Richard in 1967; and his mother, Dorothy in 1996.
Survivors include his children, Don Jr. (Tammie) and Deanna; grandchild, Randi (Keith) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Destynee, Alexis and Kaige; as well as numerous cousins and his favorite aunt, Anna and his cohort and pal, his black lab, Jett.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside interment services will be conducted in Mount Moriah Cemetery Friday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m., and memorials in his memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Express condolences at www.wayrynen-richards.com.
