Many Butte residents turned out for the copper star which visited Montana Resources' parking lot late Monday before making the trip to Washington, D.C. where the entire nation can view it. The star, made partly with copper, will go on top of the Capitol Christmas tree Dec. 6. The star pays homage to Butte's rich copper mining past and is the first copper star to ever adorn the Capitol's tree. The tree is a Montana-grown Engelmann spruce.
