Two Washington residents died in a one-vehicle rollover wreck on Interstate 90 just west of the Ramsay exit early Friday, a Montana trooper said.

The 60-year-old woman and her 38-year-old son, both from Goldendale, died at the scene, said Montana Highway Patrol trooper Mark Knutson. The names have not been released.

The man, who was wearing a seatbelt, was driving a 2002 Suzuki sport-utility vehicle eastbound when the rollover occurred. Knutson said the vehicle was traveling too fast for the icy road conditions.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and then overcorrected, he said. The car flipped 1 ½ times. Knutson said the 60-year-old woman, who was in the backseat without a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.

The man’s 20-year-old daughter, who was in the front passenger seat and wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries.

A passerby reported the wreck about 6:57 a.m.

Dangerous road and the new exit to i15 is still too steep. Poor design and still under construction
