There will at least two races for seats on Butte-Silver Bow’s Council of Commissioners this year.
Michele Shea of Butte has announced her candidacy for the District 2 seat now held by Sheryl Ralph, who is not seeking a third four-year term. Michael “Rocko” Mulcahy, who once served on the council, also is running in District 2.
Seven of 12 council seats are on the ballot this year, but so far, the only other contested race is in District 1 held by Cindy Perdue-Dolan. She is seeking a second term and as of now will face accounts manager Shawn Fredrickson.
Shea says she has experience in government, the private sector and non-profits and has served on the boards of Mariah’s Challenge and the Continental Divide Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. She is the office manager for Copper City Physical Therapy.
She and her family have lived in District 2 for 20 years and says that gives her the best understanding of the issues facing its residents. Michele’s husband is Butte native Tim Shea. They have two grown children and a son in high school.
