ANACONDA — Residents and neighbors of Georgetown Lake will again hold their own informal Fourth of July Parade at noon Sunday.

Lineup is at 11 a.m. at the top of Southern Cross Road. The parade runs down to Highway 1 and turns around from there.

Jeff Brock, owner of the Seven Gables Restaurant, said what began as four people walking down Southern Cross Road with an American flag has grown over 14 years.

Brock estimated the get-together drew as many as 2,000 spectators last year, though he did not officially keep track, he said.

“We’re getting more and more people from Philipsburg, Anaconda and Butte,” Brock said. “There’s a lot of crazy stuff that goes on.”

There is no registration, and participants need only show up. Police from Anaconda and Granite County will be on hand to help with traffic, Brock said.

After the first march, some of the group will head to a second across the lake at Eccleston Bay, Brock said, though there is no set schedule.
