J.R Hollingsworth back in jail

James Robert “J.R.” Hollingsworth is back in jail after violating the conditions of his parole.

Hollingsworth had been serving time at the Butte Prerelease Center and wasn’t following the rules, police said. He was booked into jail Thursday  at about 10 p.m.

Convicted of felony negligent homicide, Hollingsworth received a 10-year sentence with five years suspended to the Montana Department of Corrections and was sent to a screening center for placement. He was sentenced in district court on Oct. 24.

Hollingsworth was racing with another car and texting when he ran a red light at the intersection of Harrison and Roosevelt on Aug. 23, 2012. He crashed into another vehicle and killed a 74-year-old man.

There are so many threads on this subject!
Well, why are you sticking up for this person, you know who you are, has he drug you down so far into his world that you think he is God? JR has been a perverted menace to society ever since I can remember, he installs fear in anyone who goes against him. My fear is now gone, I have one of those permits, you know what they are. He screwed up and killed someone on Harrison ave, his crimes against society have killed more than we will ever know. Shame on you daughter, and wife!

Wow are you kidding me. ITs the fault of the other driver that wanted to race him on Harrison. Why don't you just blame the poor guy that was going down the street and had the green light. Yes green light not red like Jr had.. HE violated the rules of the center and is ware is should have been a long time ago. Just because he is good working on cars and trucks means he can race someone one down the street. NO that is like saying you are good shooting a gun so start shooting down the street. And if he was 24 hours late he would have been charged with escape.

You might start with blaming the reports then. Right here it states he was racing & texting. http://mtstandard.com/news/local/updated-hollingsworth-gets-years-with-department-of-corrections/article_5e8efcca-3cd4-11e3-a28f-001a4bcf887a.html either way he killed someone and should do some time. It was his fault no matter how you look at it.

And people wonder why The Sub standard is such a hated paper. To let some hateful people post what ever they want against someone that they know absolutely nothing about- just so they can feel important to talk about others with a forked tongue is ridiculous. Half these people on here should look in a mirror before the sewage pours out of their mouths. Prescription meth and the whole texting thing is a joke. JR doesn't know or cares to even learn how to text. His drug screen test were taken minutes after the accident(at his own demands) and showed small amounts of prescribed medicines(which did not include Meth) in his system. That is no more than any other person out on the streets driving has in their bodies at a given time while they themselves are out driving. He's been clean for years now of any illegal drug. So go throw rocks at your own glass houses. The only thing he is guilty of is a bad choice of having some kid pull up to him and chose to try and prove his truck was faster when he was egged on. For someone that can make a truck perform to it's greatest ability- he wasn't going to let some kid think he could show him up. It could have been just as possible for that kid in the other truck to have been in the wrong lane. Did that other truck get any kind of guilt placed on the *ACCIDENT*? It was just as much his fault as anyone elses. If that truck didn't pull nest to JR Hollingsworth and start showing off(wanting to race), then this accident would never have taken place. So- who really is to blame. Do we ridicule the wreckless driver of other accidents when they get in a wreck and accidentally kill a passenger? It was poor judgement with something that went horribly wrong. Just because there are some people in the world that like to try and make their own lives feel better by destroying others, it goes to show you what kind of persons they really are. From what I heard- JR was 45 minutes late in reporting in because he got caught up in time trying to get a guys starter fixed in his truck so the guy would have something to drive(as usual- trying to help someone out). I personally know workers at the pre-release that know that this is unheard of for a cop to go find them, load them in his car, and take JR to jail for being 45 minutes late. They all said- yeah, maybe if it was a 24 hour thing, but never for 45 minutes. Maybe the Sub Standard should get their stories all figured out before they print their ignorant stories.

I totally agree. I know this man and he has NO remorse what so ever. He actually thinks its a joke that he should even be in jail. He should have been doing his time in Deer Lodge not prerelease, which he was allowed out every day for 12 hours a day. And our justice system thinks this is punishment?

I am so done with the people who keep trying to lay the blame or even guilt on my family!!!!! Seriously, you all seem to think that we don't have the right for justice....like it or not Hollingsworth commented a crime and there for just like anyone ( well for some people ) they have to face the punishment for that crime. How is it okay that Hollingsworth can willing race and text, ran a red light killing my father and he is not suppose to do any time in prison??? If this was someone else we wouldn't even be having this conversation if that's what you want to call it....... If you want to lay blame on anyone or even guilt,I suggest laying it the person who caused this pain for both families.... Stop laying it on mine, all we ever wanted was just justice and I feel that we are more in our rights for that.. Yes Hollingsworth was sent to pre-release instead of prison, but that didn't last very long now did it,he had a chance to be out and even then he couldn't follow the law and or agreement on his being out... So tell me since you have been blaming my family from the start over this, who are you going to blame now??? Who's fault is it that he ended up back in jail???? Can't blame my family for this one,so guess you gonna have to find someone else to blame right, because this is one thing I have noticed with this family is blame goes every where else but where it should go..... We are not a vengeful family never have been, the word JUSTICE is the right word for us to use in this case, they right word anyone would use even you if it was the other way around... Again it's just another way to make my family look bad,or evil, and or as you would put it vengeful..... I think it's time to grow up and stop blaming the innocent and blame the right person in all this........

Srvdmytym-- What is wrong with you? I hope he sues you for slander. Butte was a much different place when they grew up , not that being an excuse but Butte was filled with "DRUNKEN JUDGES" LAWYERS_- and what you did was drink and smoke and fight. you my friend would have received the PROVERBIAL punch in the teeth for that statement.

My ultimate question on this whole situation is how you "so called" educated and blissful people think you know so much about the victims apparent "vengeful" family? How is it you have the nerve, let alone the ordascity, to get on this link and make such a disdainful and invalid comment about an innocent family that lost a loved one; not only to a narc but to the towns biggest snitch known? Maybe the next time you wake up picture your life without your husband, dad, brother, uncle, all the above; and come back and let me know how "vengeful" you are then! Open your eyes. Pure idiocracy and ignorance

He was out because the judge did not go about taking the deal that was already made signed and witnessed off the table the correct way!He made the deal and had to stick with it I think he was just doing that to maybe make the "vengeful" family feel better....didn't he know that they would see when he got out?!It's messed up all the way around I was glad that he got out maybe he would get his "stuff" (for lack of a better word cause this site wont let you swear for some reason.)together and take care of his family....he had his chance and now I believe he screwed himself and mostly his wife cause he makes it very hard on her when he is in jail.on another matter don't get me wrong I would be out for vengeance too if that was my husband....just admit it instead of saying that you want "justice".

What a joke this person has made out of the legal system again! He has thumbed his nose for years at the law and once again has shown he does not believe the laws were meant for him. DOC has no business sending him anywhere except to the state penitentiary in Deer Lodge!!!

This particular case was peculiar from the beginning. The accused never spent a single day in jail and the vehicle was never impounded. Charges were not filed for nearly a year after the event. In the end he did not spend a day in prison and was out on parole. I think the county attorney's office owes an explanation.
