Working next to the Anselmo Mine's main hoist Oakland artist David Burke is surrounded by inspiration. He recalls that when he arrived in Butte a month ago he thought that the Berkeley Pit would be the major influence of the art and created this back lit painting but was soon drawn to the old underground operations.
