"Elf, Jr. the Musical" is in its second week of production at Butte's Orphan Girl Theater.
Cole Cunningham nails the role of Buddy the Elf, a human who grew up in the North Pole thinking he was an elf. After Santa tells him that he is human, he heads to New York to find his father. He encounters all sorts of "problems" on his journey and meets a lot of very fun characters along the way.
One of my personal favorite characters in this play is news reporter Charlotte Dannen, hilariously played by 10-year-old Mya Dare. These kids at the OGCT have done a fantastic job of bringing this funny, heart-warming Christmas story to our Butte community for the holidays.
This musical, directed by the very talented Jackie Freeman, is such a joy for audience members of all ages. The costume designers for the play, Lauri Parrett and Nancy Hoffman, have done an amazing job of making these characters come to life.
The music, the stage, the lights ... this play is full of music and laughter and talent, talent, talent! It is a must-see!
