Seattle based, award-winning guitarist Josh Snodgrass will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Heritage Bible Church, 3215 Hannibal St.
His instrumental guitar performances range in style from Christmas songs like “Silent Night” and “O Come All Ye Faithful” to his own rendition of “The Hallelujah Chorus.” Admission is free.
He and his wife Sarah tour full time, performing over 120 concerts per year. Sarah is a worship leader and will be singing several classic Christmas carols as well. The focus of the concert will be celebrating the significance of Christmas and the coming of Christ.
Josh originally learned to play guitar at the age of six from his father. After playing in church during his childhood years, he became the lead guitarist of the Gospel bluegrass group, The Smoothgrass Boys, which gained notoriety in 2002 during the Folk music revival. Later he learned a rare technique, called hybrid picking, which allows Snodgrass to play the melody, bass line and rhythm all at the same time on an acoustic guitar.
