Butte's 2016 Festival of Trees is Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2 and 3, in the ballroom of the Thornton Building, Broadway and Wyoming.

Proceeds benefit Safe Space, a shelter for victims of domestic violence in Butte.
Entering the ballroom from Broadway Street, trees, wreaths and other goodies will reflect the theme "Pick Your Favorite Song" — oldies but goodies or hot off the press.
For $1, people can view trees Friday from 3 to 10 p.m. and enjoy a warm holiday welcome during the Christmas Stroll. Tree viewing resumes for $1 admission on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The gala begins at 6 p.m.; cost is $10 with food and beverage available preceding the auction.
Mrs. Claus's Whatnot Shoppe is a new addition this year featuring collectibles, keepsakes, costume jewelry, toys, and unique Christmas music boxes.
Santa greets children Friday, sitting in the chair he used for many seasons at Hennessy's in Butte. Entertainment includes the Fine Line Dancers Friday and music on Saturday. Silent auction items are available for bid both days.
