The Moscow Ballet announces open auditions at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, for dancers ages 7 to 16 years at Five, Six, Seven, Eight, 71½ E. Park St., Uptown Butte.

The ballet’s “Dance with Us” audition director Natalia Miroshnyk will be present to select 60 dancers to perform as Party Children, Mice, Snowflakes, Angels, and many more roles in the Great Russian Nutcracker at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, in the Mother Lode Theatre, 316 W. Park St.

Applicants must have at least one year of ballet training, dress in dance attire and may bring Pointe shoes.

The experience of working and performing with professional ballerinas is often a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for aspiring dancers, according to a news release from the ballet.

Former Somerville NJ Gotta Dance student Hillary-Marie Michael, now director of Jersey Tap Fest, says, “From start to finish … it is an excellent way for dancers to understand both the discipline and fun involved in a professional ballet production.”
