Montana artist John Anacker will be exhibiting his work at the US Bank, Park and Main, through the month of September. The exhibit will open during the monthly Uptown Artwalk from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, September 1.
Anacker, a Montana native, hiked many Montana mountain trails with his father. He remembers when these trails were empty of other people. These experiences are his muse.
Anacker believes there are two perspectives from which nature can be viewed: a resource for men’s exploration or a vessel for the divine. Anacker said he believes the latter. His paintings spring from that conceptual standpoint and illuminate nature.
Anacker has been the gallery director for the MSU School of Art, a published author, and a panelist for the national Endowment for the Arts.
