The 31-year-old female who was shot in the back with a 9-millimeter handgun in McGruff Park off Shields Avenue last week has been released from the hospital, according to police.
Butte-Silver Bow County Undersheriff George Skuletich said Tuesday that he checked with St. James Healthcare Monday and learned that the victim had left the hospital.
She underwent surgery after being shot. Skuletich did not have additional information about the victim.
No arrests have been made in the case, authorities said.
The incident happened at about 3:15 a.m. on Jan. 18. The victim was sitting in the back seat of a car with two male friends sitting in the front seats.
The victim’s car pulled into the parking lot in McGruff Park, intending to meet with another car. An unknown car was already sitting in the parking lot. A third car arrived, the shooter got out and shot two rounds at the windshield of the victim’s car.
Police got a description of the shooter.
The incident remains under investigation,police said.
