Shoplifting, etc.

Police arrested Anyssa Burch, 30, of Butte at about 8 p.m. Wednesday at Town Pump, 531 S. Montana St., after an employee at Stokes Market, 1301 Harrison Ave., reportedly saw her put a shopping basket behind a counter that contained empty packages, according to police. Police said they found Burch at the Town Pump about 45 minutes later. She was arrested on charges of shoplifting, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal contempt, and probation violation, all misdemeanors. While processing Burch at the jail, officers allegedly found a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine.

Marijuana possession

Police arrested Gordon Crain, 26, of Butte at about 9 p.m. Wednesday on West Quartz Street for two misdemeanors: possession of dangerous drugs and criminal contempt. According to police, Crain showed up for a court-sanctioned alcohol rehabilitation program and, during a search, police found marijuana in his possession.

Drug paraphernalia

Police arrested Alex Osier, 20, of Butte on the 200 block of Park Street at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday for two misdemeanors: possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal contempt. Police allegedly recognized Osier as having a warrant out for his arrest and during the booking process found a glass pipe used for smoking marijuana.

Reckless driving

Police arrested Lester Petrovich, 30, of Butte at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday for three misdemeanors: reckless driving, failure to show proof of insurance, and driving without a valid license. Petrovich was headed west on Platinum Street when he allegedly veered onto a sidewalk, crossed Aluminum Street, and struck several vehicles in a parking lot.

Outstanding warrant

Police arrested William Mehrens, 62, of Butte on a criminal contempt warrant from Butte City Court at about 2 p.m. Wednesday. Animal control had asked for assistance while citing Mehrens for a park ordinance violation of having a dog in Stodden Park. When police arrived, they found that Mehrens had the outstanding warrant.
