Police booked Ryan Sheehan, 25, of Butte on the 700 block of West Galena Street at about 2 a.m. Sunday after a woman told them she had escaped from Sheehan and that he might be armed with a large knife. According to police, Sheehan tackled the victim in the residence and wouldn’t let her leave. When he got up to get the knife, she ran. Police booked Sheehan on misdemeanor partner- family member assault.
Police arrested Jody Menard, 50, of Butte at about 1 a.m. Monday on the 500 block of Silver Street for misdemeanor partner-family member assault. Police said the complainant came home to find her dresser tipped over and her clothes strewn in the living room. She said Menard lunged at her when she entered the bedroom.
An officer stopped Benny Sandoval, 38, of Butte driving on the 3500 block of Warren Avenue at 12:30 a.m. Saturday because the officer knew Sandoval had an outstanding warrant. He was booked without incident for an outstanding felony warrant for stalking. Bond is set at $15,000.
INTENT TO SELL
Police said they recovered over $200 when they booked Amanda Laverdure, 36, of Butte at 2 p.m. Friday at Montana and Boardman for a traffic stop. Probation and parole stopped Laverdure to search her and allegedly located two grams of methamphetamine, three grams of heroin, several pills, syringes, a glass pipe, a scale, and several small plastic baggies. She was booked on four felonies: possession with intent to sell, use of property subject for forfeiture, and two counts of possession of dangerous drugs. Police also booked her on four misdemeanors: operating with expired plates, criminal contempt, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an out-of-jurisdiction warrant.
ANOTHER DRUG ARREST
Police arrested Katrina Mays, 28, homeless, for possession of dangerous drugs, a felony, at the convenience store at Montana and Platinum at about 12:30 p.m. Friday. Officers arrived to assist probation and parole officers in searching Mays. They said they found four hydrocodone pills, a couple of syringes, a scale, and a spoon. She was also booked for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and probation violation, a felony.
Police booked Zachary Gustafson, 27, of Butte for simple assault, a misdemeanor, at 3:45 a.m. Monday on the 500 block of South Main Street. Police, called to a disturbance at 2:44 a.m., said they found a female and male victim. When police arrived, Gustafson fled on foot, according to police. Officers said they pursued Gustafson but lost him on the 700 block of South Dakota Street. Gustafson returned to the residence on the 500 block of South Main, where police captured him. Officers also booked him on obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest, and partner-family member assault, all misdemeanors, and a parole violation, a felony.
FAILURE TO DISPERSE
Police were called to the Acoma Lounge, 60 E. Broadway St., at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday because Joseph Estenson, 33, of Helena was allegedly trying to fight several people. When police asked Estenson to leave, they said he refused. When police handcuffed him for a misdemeanor count of failure to disperse, Estenson sat down and had to be carried out, according to police.
Gonzalo Aguilar, 32, and Emilio Lopez, 24, both of Butte, forced entry into a residence on the 2100 block of Walnut Street at 2:45 a.m. Monday, police said. But when police arrived, the homeowner didn’t want to press charges, according to police. However, officers discovered that Aguilar was wanted on two misdemeanor counts of criminal contempt and Lopez was wanted on one misdemeanor count of criminal contempt.
Bruce Meyer, 48, of Butte called dispatch for a medical emergency for a person who was not well on the 200 block of West Park Street. When officers arrived, they found that Meyers had a misdemeanor count of criminal contempt warrant for his arrest. The ill person was transported to St. James Healthcare, and Meyer was booked.
CREDIT CARD THEFT
Police booked Timothy Erdley, 52, of Butte at 1 a.m. Friday in Rocker for a theft reported at the Butte Country Club on Oct. 6 involving stolen credit cards. The case remains under investigation, and details were not available from police on Monday.
Police arrested Howard Galinkin, 48, of Butte on the 1900 block of Gaylord Street at 5 p.m. Sunday for an outstanding felony warrant for deceptive practice. Police were dispatched on a complaint of harassment by high school students when they found Galinkin inside the residence.
Police arrested Jacob Hockenberry, 28, homeless, when a report came in at 9:30 a.m. Sunday of a suspicious person at Alabama and Park. Police found he had an outstanding criminal contempt warrant.
Guyles Reichmand, 57, of Butte allegedly threw a chair at a television in an apartment on the first block of West Broadway Street at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Reichmand wasn’t supposed to be in the building, according to police. Police booked him for criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.
