HIT-AND-RUN

Police say they responded around 10 a.m. Thursday to the 200 block of Jackson Street in response to a hit-and-run accident.

According to the complainant, police said, a man had hit his parked vehicle and driven away. Moments later, police said, the man reappeared and told the car owner that he would come back.

Police said the man, identified as Dustin Lester, 47, of Butte, never returned but later phoned police and turned himself in. He was arrested at his home without incident, police said, and is facing misdemeanors for not having insurance and driving with a suspended or revoked license and for the hit-and-run.

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

Butte-Silver Bow police say that Steven Rule, 41, of Butte was booked in the Butte jail Wednesday after he was arrested by Montana Highway Patrol. Police said Rule was taken into custody during a routine traffic stop, at which time he was allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition to a drug paraphernalia citation, Rule has also been cited with driving without a seatbelt and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
