Police reports

Failure to register as sex offender

Christopher Ryan Burns, 31, of Pulaski, Tennessee, was arrested Thursday night for failing to register as a sex offender.

Police say they discovered that Burns had five felony failure-to-register warrants from Tennessee out for his arrest after they pulled him over on the corner of Florence Avenue and Cobban Street. Police say they pulled him over because his plates were expired.

DUI

Police say they were patrolling in the area of Granite and Main Streets early Friday morning when they allegedly saw a pickup truck run a red light.

Police pulled over the driver, Brooks Grants Haight, 34, of Butte, at which point they allegedly observed that he had bloodshot eyes. Officers administered a road-side sobriety test, which police said the man failed. He was then taken to the Butte county jail, police said, where he allegedly failed more sobriety maneuvers and refused to take a breathalyzer test.

Haight has been cited with refusing to take a breathalyzer test, having an open container for an open can of beer in his vehicle, and failure to stop at a red light, misdemeanors.

Disorderly conduct

Police arrested Emil Joseph Longneck, 58, of Butte for disorderly conduct after he allegedly refused to leave the emergency room of St. James Healthcare. Police say he was escorted out of the hospital Thursday night by security and was later taken into custody by police.
