Police reports

DRUG CHARGES

Police said they responded early Thursday to a report of suspicious activity on the 100 block of North Henry Street and found Austin Brisbo, 43, of Butte asleep in a vehicle registered to a family member.

At the time, around 1:50 a.m., officers detained Brisbo on a misdemeanor warrant issued by the Montana Highway Patrol. Police said that when they booked Brisbo, they found pills that were not prescribed to him and were believed to be a controlled substance. In addition, police said they found a syringe in his possession.

He faces charges of felony possession of dangerous drugs and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

ARRESTED AGAIN

On Monday, Butte resident Karste A. McDaniel, 23, was arrested and charged with trespassing at Walmart. On Wednesday, McDaniel was arrested around 4:40 p.m. and charged with misdemeanor partner or family member assault after an alleged assault at a residence on the 600 block of West Galena Street of a family member. She was charged also with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after police said they found in her possession the type of pipe often used to smoke methamphetamine.

VEHICLES STOLEN

Police are investigating two separate vehicle thefts this week.

One of the cars, a 1992 Subaru Loyale, turned up fairly quickly. The other, a 2005 green Mini Cooper, remained missing as of Thursday morning.

The Subaru was reported stolen Wednesday morning from the vicinity of Silver Bow Homes by a woman who told police that the car could have been stolen any time during the preceding three days. Then, around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, police spotted the Subaru pulling into a lot on Arizona Street. When they reached the scene, the driver had fled. The car was undamaged, and the theft is under investigation.

The Mini Cooper was reported stolen Wednesday night after the mother of the woman who owns the car noticed it was missing from a parking lot where her daughter had left the vehicle when going out of town. The lot was in the vicinity of the Park and Main in Uptown. The theft remains under investigation.
