Dangerous drugs

Police say an officer patrolling in the area of George Street and Oregon Avenue Thursday afternoon spotted Scott Brown, 31, of Butte, who was known to have a warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear in District Court. The bond was $75,000, police said.

Police said that when the officer approached Brown, the 31-year-old began running. The officer pursued Brown on foot and was eventually able to take him to the ground and arrest him.

During his arrest, police said, officers discovered a glass pipe and a small amount of suspected meth in Brown’s possession. The 31-year-old has been cited with obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors, along with felony drug possession and criminal contempt.

Assault with bodily fluids

Police say a 27-year-old Butte woman spat at officers Thursday night while she was being arrested for criminal trespassing.

According to police, Tara Wilkie was at a residence on the 1000 block of Gaylord Street when she was asked to leave the home. Wilkie allegedly refused to leave and continued to refuse to leave when officers arrived around 6:30 p.m.

Officers placed Wilke under arrest, police said, at which time she allegedly pulled away from officers and gave verbal threats in addition to spitting.

As of Friday morning, she remained in Butte county jail, where she now faces misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and trespassing in addition to a felony charge of assault with bodily fluids.

Sonnenberg was taken to Butte county jail, where he remained as of Friday morning.
