Kid hit riding a bicycle

A pickup truck hit a 9-year-old boy while he was riding a bicycle at Montana and Quartz Streets at about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday. The child sustained minor injuries, according to police, and was taken to St. James Healthcare. The driver was not cited.

Asleep at the wheel

Corde Deberti, 18, of Butte was allegedly found asleep with his vehicle, which was parked in the middle of the street with the engine running, at Port of Montana, west of Butte, at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday. Deberti allegedly failed sobriety maneuvers and was booked on DUI under 21, a misdemeanor.

Suspended license

An officer spotted Ami Surman, 37, of Butte heading north on the 3000 block of Kennedy Street Wednesday. The officer knew Surman’s license was suspended and stopped her at Floral and Meade. Surman was booked on driving with a suspended license.

Driving in turn lane

An officer reportedly saw Neil Murphy, 41, of Butte southbound on Main Street in the turn lane but making no attempt to turn at around midnight Wednesday. The officer found that Murphy had an active warrant out of Butte City Court.

$75,000 warrant

Kalli Cady, 23, of Butte was allegedly spotted with a gas can on Montana and Second Streets at about 2 a.m. Thursday. She was with a male companion who was pushing a motorcycle. Police found that Cady had a $75,000 warrant out of Butte District Court. The male was released, but Cady was booked for criminal contempt, a felony.

Failure to disperse

Kane O’Neill, 25, of Butte was reportedly lying on the street at Alabama and Broadway screaming at vehicles as they drove past. O’Neill resisted efforts of officers to control him and refused to go home, so police booked him on resisting arrest and failure to disperse, both misdemeanors.
