Man arrested for alleged car break-ins

Police say they arrested Eric Packard, a 40-year-old homeless man, early Monday morning on the 10 block of Copper Street after neighbors in the area reported that he was going through vehicles parked on the street. Packard was taken to Butte county jail, where he currently faces a misdemeanor charge of vehicle trespassing. Police say Packard did not take anything from the vehicles.

Dine and dash

A 37-year-old Butte man was arrested around 11 a.m. Monday after he allegedly dined and dashed at a casino on the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue. Police were able to locate the man, Joshua Sevores, 37, of Butte on 2nd Street near Stokes Fresh Food Market. He now faces a misdemeanor shoplifting charge.

Gas and dash

Police say the received a report Monday afternoon about a woman who had filled up a black Chevy Silverado at a gas station on the 4700 block of Harrison Avenue and drove away without paying. According to police, someone working at the gas station had turned the pump on for the woman and had gotten sidetracked when the incident occurred.
